Ever dreamed of developing your own SocialFi app that rewards creators and users for engaging, or a wireless network that lets users contribute their bandwidth? Yes? Great, because Avalanche, the Particle Network, and DoraHacks are calling on builders everywhere to do just that as part of Avalanche Frontier: Decentralized Application Hackathon.

What is it? A month-long virtual hackathon with a $100K grand prize pool, specific tracks from partners like Chainlink, Movement Labs, Covalent, and Paladin Security, and a wide range of tools and services offered to help participants. Register by January 22.

Sub-Saharan Africa: A Land Of DeFi Opportunity

Who’s Poised To Lead On-Chain Adoption?

Sub-Saharan Africa’s poised to take the DeFi activity lead (on Avalanche), and we’ve got the data to show why. Between July 2022 and June 2023, Sub-Saharan Africa had the largest share of regional txn volume in BTC and saw mass growth in retail payments, P2P exchanges, and remittances.

What’s else? Turns out stablecoins are the real MVPs here, going above and beyond BTC usage. But…there’s a caveat 👀
